Arusun Is No Ordinary Tour Boat
She is a 60-foot Formula II Ocean Racing Catamaran designed by Rod McAlpine-Downie and built in 1984–1985 for serious ocean sailing. In 1989, Dutch sailor Henk de Velde took her—then named Alisun J&B—on a solo around-the-world record attempt, completing the journey in 158 days.
Today, Arusun is proudly operated by Aruba Watersports Center, a family-owned and operated company where personal attention and Caribbean hospitality are at the heart of the experience.
Choose a regular morning departure at 9:30 AM or an afternoon departure at 1:00 PM. Your 2½-hour sailing and snorkeling trip includes two snorkeling stops—the Antilla Shipwreck and Boca Catalina—plus an unlimited open bar, light snacks and fresh fruit, a rope swing, and plenty of room to relax on the spacious deck, front trampolines and shaded lounging areas.
Your 2½-Hour Arusun Adventure
1. Check-In at Aruba Watersports Center
Check in 30 minutes before departure. Meet at Aruba Watersports Center on Palm Beach, in the large brown beachfront building between Hilton and Barceló. The Bread Basket and Dazzling Turtle are in the same building.
2. Transfer & Warm Caribbean Welcome
Your Arusun adventure starts with a warm Caribbean welcome from our friendly, experienced crew. After check-in, a small transfer boat takes you to the catamaran, where the music is playing, the open bar is ready and good times are waiting. A safety briefing and life jackets are included.
3. Sail Along Aruba’s Coastline
Stretch out on the spacious deck, sunbathe on the front trampolines, relax in the shade or grab a drink while we sail along Aruba’s beautiful coastline. Light snacks and fresh fruit are served onboard, and our crew keeps the atmosphere fun, relaxed and welcoming.
4. Snorkel Stop: Antilla Shipwreck
Conditions permitting, we stop at the Antilla Shipwreck for snorkeling among wreckage, reef life and colorful tropical fish. Snorkeling equipment is included. Snorkeling is completely optional—you are welcome to remain onboard.
5. Snorkel Stop: Boca Catalina
Our second snorkeling stop is Boca Catalina, with reef life and colorful tropical fish—and a chance of spotting a sea turtle.
6. Rope Swing & Open Bar
Ready to make a splash? Swing into the Caribbean from Arusun’s new rope swing! Prefer to stay dry? Snorkeling and the rope swing are completely optional. Enjoy the music, the unlimited open bar and the views.
7. Return to Aruba Watersports Center
After approximately 2½ hours of sailing, snorkeling and Caribbean fun, our crew transfers you back to Aruba Watersports Center. Trips are subject to weather and sea conditions.
